We are so lucky to have our lives touched by adoption.  It is an incredible thing that brings birth families & adoptive families together.  It has been a learning experience having an open relationship with our children’s birth parents.  Our backgrounds our different, our lifestyles are different yet we have these amazing children that has bound us together.  We consider them dear friends & cherish the choice they made.  We are able to visit several times a year & talk on the phone or Skype every couple of months.  It is a blessing to be able to keep in contact & share how quickly these little ones grow up.
If we had our wish we would spend each day just playing with our kids.  Our daughter just turned 8!  She is in second grade and is still in the "loving school" phase which is great.   She is a sweet friend, very aware of others feelings.  She loves to color and loves all animals, especially horses and dogs.  She is the perfect big sister.  Our son turned 4 this summer and gets excited about little things, he loves to dance and ride his bike and thinks he is very funny. He is a fierce Wii competitor and card game champ of the family.  All day long he misses his big sister while she's at school.  Luckily the baby, who just turned 2, is starting to be a good playmate.  He loves to laugh and has the best laugh in the world.  He loves any kind of ball and wants to kick or play catch all day.  He can sit with a can of playdoh for hours making us all "treats".  He's a good chasing and wrestling buddy.  These sweet kids make us want to be better; better friends, more well read, more kind, more hard-working, more patient & understanding.  It is overwhelming to think of all the things that they need to learn from us, but that is what makes parenting so rewarding & fun.  We are fortunate to have so many people love them, between our birth parents' families and Grandmas & Grandpas, Aunts & Uncles, & tons of cousins.  It is pretty incredible to see our children spoiled & loved amongst all the family.  They love being in the mix with all the cousins, trying to keep up
Adam comes from a family of boys, lots of them.  They are rambunctious & fun.   Their mother made a big deal out of birthdays & holidays, definitely a tradition we want to continue.  Rebecca comes from a large family, mainly girls.  Everyone played sports & doing well in school was expected.  There is something magical about a childhood full of siblings.  Someone to imagine things with, someone to count on, someone to take your side.  Those things seem to become even more important as you get older.
Rebecca is a great cook and makes an amazing chocolate chip cookie.  If you want a party to be thrown she is the one to call.  She loves to plan out all the details and watch it come together with friends and family.  Her style is reflected in our home, with lots of color and some twist of modern vintage. She enjoys reading, watching silly shows, i.e. New Girl, and sneaking out to the garage to run on the treadmill and recently trained for and ran a half marathon.  We are both grateful that she is home with our kids and does a great job with them!
Adam grew up in San Diego and found himself drawn to the ocean.  He was hooked at a very young age to the water.  He played water polo both in high school and college.  After college in Hawaii, we moved to Idaho.  He found other outlets to fill the void of the ocean.  He was taught at an early age how to fish and found some good fishing holes.  He tried taking our daughter last summer but she was more consumed with the fishing net and scaring the fish away.  The last few summers Adam has spent his early mornings swimming, biking and running.  He loves to compete in triathlons and finds satisfaction in knowing that even when you get older you can still be fast!
This is such a small glimpse into who we are, what are family is like and how our lives revolve around these sweet kids.  We hope it helps.  We look forward to adding another child to our little world.  Adam & Rebecca
