Our Families

Adam's family extends from San Diego to Minnesota.  He grew up in San Diego with his mother and stepfather while his father also remarried and lives in Minnesota.  He comes from a family of all boys, lots of them.  They are loud, rambunctious and like to play.  They were raised by the ocean and it is a huge part of their life, surfing, playing in the water, or just hanging out at the beach.  Nearly all of them participated in water sports, water polo or swimming.

Adam's mother kept up with all six boys.  She drove them to the beach, packed them around to sporting events and was the loudest cheerleader in the stands.  She taught them to be loyal and kind.  She loves holidays and made every event special.  She decorated their bedrooms on their birthdays, she scared them with creepy masks on Halloween and her house turns into a Winter Wonderland for Christmas.  Every one of her boys adores and admires her and now she has daughter-in-laws that love her just as much.  'Papa' and "Mana' can spoil grandkids better than anyone we know.
The most recent count is ten
grandchildren, with only two girls in that crazy bunch.

Rebecca comes from a large family as well, eight kids, with the girls winning out 5 to 3.  There were more barbie houses than forts.
Sports were a big part of growing up, baseball, volleyball, track, basketball, softball, even a little tennis and bowling.  Rebecca's dad made a huge effort to get to every game, every track meet possible.  It was the best surprise when he would sneak away from work and be in the stands cheering you on.
Rebecca's mom was the organizational genius that kept the house running.  Both her parents made a special effort to spend some one on one time with each kid, whether it was staying up late with mom and dad or lunch dates with mom.
Keeping a good balance was key for the whole family.  Educational standards were held pretty high as well as church responsibilities.  Family vacations were spent with family, lots of traveling to Utah to spend summers with grandma and grandpa, swapping kids with aunts and uncles, big family reunions in Colorado and Utah.
The recent grandkid count is up to 22, with at least one more due this year.  Grandma and Grandpa spend most of their time traveling around to all those grandkids!
