Our Story

Rebecca had just completed her Associates Degree at a junior college in Utah and was propositioned by a good friend to move to San Diego.  Pretty easy to say yes.  The goal was to work for a year and then go back to school.  She lived in a perfect little apartment with two sisters, found a good job and spent lots of time at the beach.
Adam was recently home from an LDS mission he served in the Philippines.  He met some great friends who surfed and also hung out with some cute girls.
It didn't take long for them to hit it off.  San Diego is the perfect setting for any courtship.  Weekends with the whole group down in Mexico, Halloween disco parties, Christmas parties with major gingerbread competition, taking the train to Santa Barbara.  It was easy to spend every possible minute together.
Adam decided to attend BYU-Hawaii to play on the water-polo team.  Long distance didn't seem like a great option so one day while sitting on the beach Adam asked Rebecca to be his wife and 'run away' to Hawaii.
They were married in the Las Vegas temple on July 6, 2001.  The first part of August they headed off to Hawaii.
Adam enrolled in school, played water-polo and worked at a championship golf course.  Rebecca got a great job at a dental office in the iconic surf town of Haleiwa.  It was easy to fill weekends with walking to the beach and hanging out with some great friends they met.  Luckily it was a great place for family and friends to come visit.  Rebecca suffered two miscarriages while they lived in Hawaii.
Adam graduated in May of 2004 and they headed back to San Diego.  Adam ended up working with a company based out of San Diego but they moved him to Portland for a small time and then on to Boise, Id.  They have lived in Boise since March 2006.  Rebecca suffered two more miscarriages and spent countless hours at specialty doctors with no real conclusions.

They bought a home, Rebecca found a job working in real estate, they met some really good friends and things got even better in September of 2007 when they met their daughter's birth mother.  January 2008 their sweet daughter Madeleine was born.
Being parents to Madeleine is better than they could have imagined.  She's fun and silly, she loves to ride her bike and play with her brother.  Anders came to their family in August 2011.  He adds a spark of excitement to the whole house.  His smile and laughter fill any room.

And in 2014 they got a surprise phone call from a family friend that lead to sweet Oliver joining the crew.  They feel very fortunate to have open relationships with each of their children's birth families.  Each relationship is unique and valuable.  These perfect children have almost an infinite number of people who love them.
